Newcastle United have acquired England defender Kieran Tripper. Tripeare was transferred to Newcastle from Atletico Madrid.
Tripper is the first player to join the team in Newcastle since the acquisition of the Saudi Public Investment Fund. Newcastle are currently the richest team in the world. The Saudi group is looking to bring in big players next season and make Newcastle English Premier League champions. Tripper was included in the team as part of that.
The 31-year-old Tripper was acquired by Newcastle for $ 16 million (approximately Rs 118 crore). Tripper, who played for Tottenham in the English Premier League, later joined Atletico.
Tripper said he was happy to be part of Newcastle and would put out a great performance for the team to win.
The owners are preparing to completely replace Newcastle next season. Newcastle are coming off a poor showing this season. The team with only one win from 19 matches is 19th in the points table. The team can only qualify for the Premier League if they perform well in future matches.
