North East United defeated Mumbai City FC, the defending champions of the Indian Super League, by two goals to one. The team won the match thanks to the brilliant performance of Dashon Brown with a pair of goals. Adam Le Fontre scored for Mumbai. Dashon Brown won the Hero of the Match award. Brown arrived in the North East through the January transfer window. Since joining the team, the head of the North East has also been proven. The team has won the last two matches.
