Hyderabad FC defeated Chennai FC in the first match of the ISL on Sunday. Hyderabad won by two wickets. With this, Hyderabad got a win after four consecutive draws. Fran Santasa and Joel Kianisi scored for Hyderabad. With the win, Hyderabad jumped to third position in the points table with 22 points from 15 matches. Fran Santasa scored the first goal for Hyderabad in the 28th minute. Santosa's goal came from a pass by Jao Victor. Santa picked up Victor's through ball and ran to the box, overtaking the Chennai defenders. Hyderabad made the best progress throughout the match. Yasir, Akash Mishra and Liston Colosso were on the field. This alliance has been at the helm of most of Hyderabad's progress. Unfortunately, Chennai's progress was blocked. The Chennai players squandered four chances to score. In the 47th minute, Eli Sabia's shot hit the bar and bounced back. In the 67th minute, Fatkhulo's goal shot was deflected back into the crossbar. Edwin failed to find the back of the net in the 74th minute. Chennai got their best chance in the 79th minute. Rahim Ali had nothing to do with the cross given by Chang. But the ball hit Ali's leg and went out. Hyderabad scored Hyderabad's second goal in the 83rd minute as Chennai continued to miss opportunities. Joel Kianisi scored Hyderabad's second goal from a through pass by Jao Victor.
